13-15 March 2009 The 10th anniversary TCP Cup was held in the Victorian western district town of Barwon Heads in March 2009. The first round was played at the Barwon Heads Golf Club and the second and third rounds were played at the two courses at 13th Beach. As a number of the Division 2 stalwarts were not available a one division competotion with 24 players was played. A change to the handicapping rules by the R & A which allows men to be handicapped up to 36 enabled the Divion 2 players to be seamlessly incorporated into the main draw without condemning them to the NAGA. The Division 2 players were handicapped using their previous TCP Cup results. Weather conditions on Day 1 at Barwon Heads Golf Club were warm with the light northerly which assisted scoring. During the weekend there was a southerly change which made condition tough especially on the last day which was played on the Beach course. After a titatic battle with Springer on the last day in extremely tough conditions Gareth reigned supreme in the rain and wind to become TCP Cup champion for the first time. In third spot was the big hitting Frenchman Zidane who finished solidly with a nett 78 which was a great score in very tough conditions. Only 5 punters broke 100 on the last day on the fabulous Beach course which bared it's teeth. In fourth place was Skippy who played solid golf and would have won if he was given a non-elitest course handicap. |

1-3 February 2008 After a eventful excursion to Tasmania the previous year, the TCP Cup returned to Rich River by the Murray River in 2008. Rich River was the scene for the inaugural TCP Cup back in 2000 when 12 young hackers played 5 rounds over 3 days to decide the champion. Little did they know that this little 3rd tier tournament would rise to become the 5th major in less than a decade. In 2008 we had 26 punters venture to Echuca to contest a 3 round tournament, with 2 divisions and a purse of $1000. Due to the drought the courses played very easy which enabled many of the punters to get their egoes back in order after the carnage that was Barnbougle Dunes. Low scoring was the order of the day with many punters shooting unprecented nett scrores in the low 60s. |

9-11 February 2007 For the first time in TCP Cup history the 2007 event was played off the mainland in Bridport, Tasmania. Twenty-six punters made the trip across Bass Strait to Barnbougle Dunes to compete in the toughest 5th major in the tournament's history. High scores were the order of the the weekend as the difficult golf course coupled with windy conditions made a mess of most punters' handicaps and egoes. |
